Bills QB Edwards may need shoulder surgery
Tuesday, 06 January 2009
BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent
Edwards had an MRI exam on his throwing shoulder Tuesday and is
seeking outside medical opinions to see if surgery is required.
The Buffalo News reported that Edwards complained of soreness in
the shoulder during his year-end physical. He was sent for a
"routine" MRI, and further tests will determine if any surgery
is necessary.
Edwards and the team reportedly want to be sure there is no
condition that could hinder his offseason conditioning and
workouts.
"He did not miss any playing time and there was no lack of
strength in his shoulder due to the soreness," the team said in
a statement. "He has scheduled visits with a couple doctors this
week and we will know more at that time."
Edwards threw for 2,699 yards with 11 touchdowns and 10
interceptions in 14 games.
